Dialogue for Male Engagement on Gender Equality and Transformative Social Norms

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) will convene a two-day Dialogue for Male Engagement on Gender Equality and Transformative Social Norms from 20th to 21st August 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya. This dialogue is part of the EU-funded Women and Youth Democratic Engagement (WYDE) Women’s Leadership Initiative, implemented in partnership with UN Women, Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG).

The event aims to engage male stakeholders from political parties, parliaments, local governments, media, and traditional leadership to promote transformative social norms and advance women’s participation and leadership in political and public life. It will focus on challenging patriarchal norms and fostering gender equality through meaningful male engagement.
